West Shore RCMP recovered cosmetics stolen from an area business after using surveillance footage to track down a suspect.
The case began March 21 when police received a complaint about a theft from a business on Langford Parkway.
A woman had allegedly stolen about $150 worth of cosmetics and then fled when confronted by employees.
Police reviewed surveillance footage showing the woman and an accomplice.
On March 22, an officer with the Crime Reduction Unit located the accomplice in the Peatt Road area — wearing what appeared to be same clothing she had on in the footage.
Police also identified the suspect and searched her Langford home on March 23, finding some of the items reported stolen.
A 55-year-old woman was arrested.
“Even when crimes are of minor monetary value, we are still fully investigating, which includes writing search warrants when feasible to recover the stolen property,” said Crime Reduction Unit Cpl. Fred Ritchie.
